Facility Maintenance Technician
About The Position
U-Haul is hiring a Facility Maintenance Technician to inspect, maintain, and build buildings and perform general maintenance, installation, repair, and service. The technician will conduct preventive maintenance inspections and semiannual roof inspections at various sites, complete work requests professionally and promptly, and collaborate with other technicians on complex projects while sharing and developing skills. The role also involves tracking a company truck and gas card and participating in ongoing education through U-Haul University. The work may involve safety risks, including moving machinery, fumes, and irritant chemicals, and may require protective gear. Physical duties include working indoors and outdoors for extended periods, traversing spaces, repositioning to use tools, and moving at least 50 pounds with or without assistance.
Requirements
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: electrical, A/C, HVAC, plumbing, or landscaping.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be 18 or older.
- D.O.T. certification; U-Haul can sponsor the certification.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and build new buildings.
- Perform general maintenance, installation, repair, and service.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and semiannual roof inspections at various sites.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Collaborate with other Facility Maintenance Technicians on complex projects and share knowledge.
- Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Keep track of the company truck and gas card.
- Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
