About The Position

Tornado Laundromat, with six locations across Amarillo, is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to manage the physical condition of all stores. This role involves maintaining buildings and grounds, HVAC upkeep, and performing scheduled preventative maintenance on laundry equipment. The position can be either part-time or full-time. The technician will be provided with a company van equipped with pressure washing equipment and necessary tools. A rotating schedule across all six stores will be followed, with an emphasis on completing, documenting, and ensuring the quality of all work performed before leaving a site.

Requirements

  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Working knowledge of basic HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders, kneel, and work behind equipment in tight spaces and heat
  • Self-directed and dependable, capable of working a route without daily supervision
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must pass a driving record check

Responsibilities

  • Perform vacuuming and cleaning of dryer fronts, backs, lint compartments, and burner/heating areas on a set rotation.
  • Clean dryer exhaust ducts and transitions, checking for blockages, damage, and proper airflow.
  • Clean around washer backs, drains, and floor areas, checking for leaks, loose hoses, and worn door gaskets.
  • Inspect lint screens, door seals, belts, and visible components, reporting any items needing repair or parts.
  • Adhere to lockout/tagout and gas safety procedures during equipment servicing.
  • Maintain a preventative maintenance log for each machine and location.
  • Replace HVAC filters on schedule at all six locations.
  • Conduct routine HVAC checks, including thermostats, condensate lines, and visible unit conditions, escalating issues to the HVAC vendor.
  • Maintain water heaters, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and electrical items within skill level, escalating licensed work.
  • Pressure wash sidewalks, storefronts, entries, dumpster areas, and parking lot trouble spots.
  • Handle general repairs to doors, locks, fixtures, drywall, paint, signage, furniture, and folding tables.
  • Maintain restrooms, trash areas, and landscaping as needed.
  • Perform seasonal tasks such as freeze preparation, storm cleanup, and roof and gutter checks.
  • Keep the company van clean, stocked, and maintained, reporting service needs promptly.
  • Track tools, supplies, and inventory, requesting restocks before depletion.
  • Submit daily or weekly work logs detailing completed tasks, identified issues, and needed parts.
  • Coordinate with store managers to ensure work does not disrupt customers.
