About The Position

E.L. Harvey & Sons has an immediate opening for a Facility Maintenance Technician to join their growing team at their site in Westborough, MA. The focus of this role is providing general building maintenance. Main duties involve responding to maintenance requests, performing general regular maintenance duties, and attending to virtually all parts of the building in question, including the flooring, ceiling, walls, and systems like HVAC, plumbing, and electrical wiring.

Requirements

Previous facility, mechanical, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
Comfort working around heavy equipment and in an active industrial environment.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in variable weather and environmental conditions.
Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and communication.
Reliable attendance and willingness to learn and grow within the company.

Responsibilities

Assist with the operation troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties/facilities
Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems to include: packaging and handling machinery, plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, grounds equipment, and HVAC
Clean, lubricate, and service a wide variety of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices
Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wall paper, and can paint walls, piping, floors and equipment
Troubleshoot, evaluate, and make recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities
Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance
Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions, preventative maintenance.
Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems such as; Fire alarm systems, fire pumps and related fire protection system equipment as assigned
