About The Position

SRC, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative measures around SRC facilities. This role involves addressing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry issues, and ensuring building safety. The position also includes light carpentry, snow removal, and landscaping as needed. The company is a not-for-profit research and development organization focused on defense, environment, and intelligence, aiming to solve complex problems and redefine what's possible.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician
  • Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Experience with building management systems and work order systems
  • Specific knowledge/skills in the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical wiring, Carpentry, HVAC
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawn mowers, and small hand tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be on-call off-hours and weekends to address facility emergencies as they arise
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year degree from a technical school preferred
  • Experience with electrical installations and diagnostics
  • Current Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine maintenance around SRC facilities
  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing
  • Repairing damaged electrical wiring
  • Maintaining the building HVAC equipment
  • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems
  • Fixing potential safety hazards
  • Light carpentry work
  • Snow removal and landscaping duties as needed
