About The Position

Responsible for maintaining DCH buildings, equipment and grounds. This includes performing emergency repairs, scheduled repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections to ensure the provision of reliable utilities and regulatory compliance. The role also involves ordering parts and materials, attending scheduled classes and meetings, and completing all required logs and records. DCH Standards require maintaining performance, patient and employee satisfaction, and financial standards, as well as adhering to compliance requirements outlined in the Employee Handbook and DCH Behavioral Standards. Essential job functions must be performed in a manner that ensures the safety of patients, visitors, and employees, including identifying and reducing unsafe practices and recognizing and taking appropriate action to reduce risks and hazards. The position requires the use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, and the intranet, and adherence to all DCH Health System policies and procedures. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Physical presence onsite is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Primary assignment areas may include one or more of the following: Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, locksmith, welding and/or painting.
  • Two year technical degree directly applicable to primary assignment preferred.
  • Two years’ experience in area of primary assignment preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Alabama driver’s license and be eligible for insurance coverage as a driver of company vehicle on DCH insurance policy is preferred but not required.

  • Adheres to the DCH Behavioral Standards including creating positive relationships with patients/families, coworkers, colleagues and with self.
  • Performs essential job functions in a manner that ensures the safety of patients, visitors and employees.
  • Identifies and reduces unsafe practices that may result in harm to patients, visitors and employees.
