About The Position

U-Haul is hiring a Facility Maintenance Technician to collaborate with other technicians on facility projects, applying and developing technical skills. The role involves inspecting, maintaining, and building facilities; performing general maintenance, installation, repair, and service; and completing work requests professionally and on time. Technicians perform preventive maintenance and semiannual roof inspections at various sites, use hand and power tools, keep track of a company truck and gas card, and participate in continuing education through U-Haul University. The position is located at 6525 E Washington St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46219. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.

Requirements

Experience in at least one of the following areas: electrical, A/C, HVAC, plumbing, or landscaping.
Valid driver's license.
D.O.T. certification; U-Haul can sponsor certification.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Inspect, maintain, and build new buildings.
Perform general maintenance, installation, repair, and service.
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and semiannual roof inspections at various sites.
Use a variety of hand and power tools effectively.
Work with other Facility Maintenance Technicians on complex projects.
Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
Keep track of the company truck and gas card.
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
