About The Position

This position is responsible for analysis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of all activities related to underground campus utilities and related building steam and heating systems. The position will also initiate repairs or replacements as necessary to upgrade campus systems and minimize energy losses.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
• Trainee/Apprenticeship: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
• After successful completion of a one year apprenticeship in the assigned trade(s), the position can be updated to the Contributing Level.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of prior experience in Facilities Maintenance where similar equipment such as Boilers, Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Motors, Starters, HVAC Equipment, Direct Digital Control Systems and other plant mechanical equipment and systems were utilized.
• Knowledge of steam thermodynamics and compressible fluid flow.
• Above average strength is an asset because of the size and weight of equipment that is to be maintained, repaired, or installed.
