About The Position

Americold is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician II to perform routine general maintenance and repairs throughout the warehouse. This role involves working on various systems including doors, dock levelers, freezer doors, sprinkler systems, roofing, and HVAC systems. The technician will also be responsible for inspecting and testing equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and operational standards, maintaining preventive maintenance records, and responding to security alarm calls. Additionally, the role includes performing maintenance on external equipment and grounds, and may involve flexible shifts and on-call assignments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial or facilities maintenance experience, or equivalent technical or vocational certification.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repair of electrical, plumbing, sprinkler systems, and carpentry.
  • Ability to use instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges for equipment testing and evaluation.
  • Skilled in maintenance and repair of doors, dock levelers, freezer doors, roofing systems, HVAC systems, and batteries.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a cold storage environment.
  • Vocational or technical certification and/or training preferred.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.

  • Collaboration with team members.
  • General knowledge of equipment used in maintenance trades.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and adjustments on doors, dock levelers, freezer doors, sprinkler systems, and electrical components in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Conduct basic maintenance and repairs on roofing systems, and office and break room HVAC systems.
  • Inspect and test operating equipment and safety equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and operational standards.
  • Maintain tools, machinery, batteries, and chargers in good working condition and use equipment as instructed.
  • Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records and respond to security alarm calls as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance on external equipment and grounds including snow removal, painting, and paving repairs.
  • Work flexible shifts as required, including on-call assignments, and perform housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean.
  • Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.
