About The Position

The Facility Maintenance Supervisor’s primary role is to perform various skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks while actively working alongside team members to ensure a safe and clean facility. Responsibilities include maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment, as well as the overall appearance of the facility. In addition to hands-on duties, this position is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing the work performed by team members, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.

  • Able to move easily throughout the warehouse, grounds, and offices.
  • Able to be at heights using an elevated lift and two-person scissor lift. Must be able to properly use fall protection when using elevated lift platform and two-person scissors lift.
  • Must be able to unload and move up to 50 lbs of material, such as mulch bags, fertilizer, etc.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Facility Maintenance
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Previous management/supervisory and experience working with automation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews and selects qualified candidates to fill vacant positions.
  • Establishes work schedule for direct reports to ensure adequate manpower to meet daily requirements.
  • Provides training and coaching to direct reports.
  • Clearly communicates expectations regarding on-the-job performance to direct reports.
  • Manages and maintains the budget for area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates J.J. Taylor’s core values and leads by example as an ambassador of the company by supporting and enforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Proactively addresses issues affecting team, including performance management issues, and constructively solves problems.
  • Responsible for reinforcing safe work practices and ensuring compliance with safety rules, policy, and programs.
  • Reports all accidents or injuries immediately to the Safety Manager. Performs accident investigations in a timely manner and completes accident reports within 24 hours of any known accident.
  • Responsible for ensuring Safety Talks and Safety Observations are occurring on a consistent basis and supporting a strong Safety culture.
  • Observes safety practices to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Conducts and leads team meetings to review business issues affecting the team.
  • Schedules and performs monthly facility inspections. Informs his/her manager of any deficiencies found.
  • Responsible for overseeing and may occasionally perform building repairs including drywall, paint/wall covering, ceiling, tile, carpet and flooring, door, and door hardware as well as plumbing repairs such as faucets, sinks, urinals, toilets, drains and valves.
  • Responsible for overseeing and may occasionally perform preventive maintenance to buildings systems, automation, and conveyor equipment.
  • Responsible for overseeing the process of creating and closing work requests through Limble and keeping accurate PM- Repair records.
  • Responsible for overseeing and may occasionally perform repairs to HVAC systems including A/C units, VAV boxes, fans, automation controls, and filter replacement.
  • Responsible for ensuring that electrical repairs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Orders and receives janitorial supplies from approved vendor list.
  • Performs any projects, additional duties and special tasks assigned by the Facilities Manager. Must be able to travel to other company facilities as needed.
