About The Position

The Facility Maintenance Repair I position is responsible for performing hands-on maintenance and repair activities to support safe, compliant, and efficient facility operations. This role performs preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, troubleshooting, installations, and general facility upkeep while ensuring compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with industrial equipment, pumps, electrical systems, plumbing, and general maintenance operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience required, including experience with pumps, mechanical systems, preventive maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • OSHA 24-Hour or 40-Hour certification with annual updates required.
  • Forklift Operator Certification required.
  • DOT training required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment.
  • Experience with pump maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and rebuilds.
  • Familiarity with industrial pump systems including: Sandpiper Diaphragm Pumps, Goulds Pumps Centrifugal Pumps, Vaughan Chopper Pumps
  • Experience working with air-operated and electric pumps.
  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Experience performing inspections and preventive maintenance on compressors, air dryers, pumps, and related equipment.
  • Basic welding, cutting, torching, and fabrication experience.
  • Experience with loading dock maintenance.
  • Experience utilizing chain falls, rigging, and equipment strapping.
  • Knowledge of plumbing systems and pipe fitting.
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • HVAC and boiler maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and other material handling equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Heavy Equipment Operator Certification may be required based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance activities including, but not limited to, pump rebuilds, preventive maintenance, basic pipe installations, and electrical work.
  • Perform repairs and upkeep involving welding, electrical systems, pipe fitting, plumbing, HVAC systems, boilers, and mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment, machinery, and support systems.
  • Assist higher-level maintenance personnel with larger and more complex maintenance projects.
  • Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on compressors, air dryers, pumps, and other industrial equipment.
  • Support loading dock maintenance and repair activities as needed.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment when properly trained and certified.
  • Utilize chain falls, rigging equipment, and strapping methods when performing maintenance activities.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and all applicable safety requirements.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain compliance with facility, environmental, and operational regulations.
  • Review and comply with all applicable SOPs and successfully complete required training.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in a clean and organized manner.
  • Perform housekeeping duties and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and best management practices.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
