About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for industrial painting, including surface preparation, coating selection, paint application, equipment setup, and quality inspection to ensure work meets established standards. The role also supports routine building and grounds maintenance, including minor carpentry, drywall, plumbing, masonry, equipment upkeep, and seasonal snow removal to help maintain a safe and functional facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred
  • Related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Upon hire, employee will complete company training at Sherwin-Williams.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Abide by all plant rules and policies, including safety, GMP regulations, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Must be able to work in a team-based environment
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, crouch, squat, stoop, reach, crawl, twist, climb, and lift 50 pounds; exposure to cold, heat, extreme noise, outdoors, electrical and mechanical hazards.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently with strong attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Communicate clearly and provide customer-service-focused support to internal teams.
  • Use basic computer skills to complete and track daily work orders.
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical, mechanical, building, grounds, and equipment maintenance issues.
  • Perform minor carpentry, drywall, plumbing, masonry, and surface repair work.
  • Complete industrial painting duties, including surface preparation, primer application, paint and coating selection, mixing, application, equipment setup, and final quality inspection.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment, including forklift, boom lift, and scissor lift.
  • Repair and maintain building man doors, overhead doors, high-speed doors, and dock locks.
  • Support snow removal and other projects as assigned.
  • This role may provide a pathway to a Utilities Technician position for interested candidates.
