Facility Maintenance Helper
About The Position
The Facility Maintenance Helper assists with facility maintenance at U-Haul Moving Centers, Storage Centers, and other U-Haul facilities within a geographical area. The role involves general maintenance, installation, repair, service, and renovation-site cleanup, while assisting skilled workers as needed. Employees participate in ongoing education through U-Haul University. The position is located at 3133 E Parham Rd, Henrico, Virginia 23228. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. The job involves moderate workplace risks and physical exertion, including lifting at least 50 pounds with or without assistance. U-Haul states that it will not hire or re-hire nicotine users in Virginia and other listed states.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal vehicular regulations while driving.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Be legally authorized to work without requiring employer sponsorship.
- Ability to perform the described physical demands, including lifting a minimum of 50 pounds with or without assistance.
Responsibilities
- Work effectively with a variety of hand and power tools.
- Perform general maintenance, installation, repair, and service.
- Perform work involving nailing, sawing, cutting, painting, and basic facility maintenance.
- Perform cleanup duties at renovation sites.
- Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist skilled workers in performing duties when necessary.
- Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
