About The Position

Clean Harbors in Buttonwillow, CA is seeking a Facility Equipment Operator to support operations within our hazardous waste landfill. This role is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment, completing daily maintenance checks, and ensuring all work is performed in compliance with safety and environmental standards. Dozer experience is highly preferred for this role. Candidates with hands-on experience operating a D6, D8, or equivalent dozer will stand out.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) and ability to learn internal systems

Nice To Haves

2+ years of heavy equipment operating experience preferred
Dozer experience (D6, D8, or equivalent) strongly preferred
Experience in landfill, grading, or similar environments a plus
Blade/motor grader experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority by following all policies, processes, and safe work practices
Operate heavy equipment including: bulldozer, front-end loader, excavator, track hoe, compactor, haul truck (CAT/Volvo), water truck, sweepers, and yard goat
Perform daily inspections and maintenance checks on assigned equipment
Complete and submit required paperwork for waste tracking and operational activities
Communicate any equipment issues immediately upon discovery
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable SOPs and regulatory requirements
Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility operations
