The Facility Engineer supports the mission of providing advanced facility engineering, operations, planning, and programming for NSIC operating locations by ensuring all construction designs, plans, and sustainment programs meet the stringent requirements necessary for secure and compliant SCIF operations. As a Facilities Engineer, you will apply expertise in ICD 705 requirements to ensure compliance of construction designs and plans, coordinate construction contractor and customer interfaces, and support the development, execution, and monitoring of facility maintenance and sustainment programs. In this role, you will provide facility planning and operational expertise in compliance with regulatory codes including the Unified Facility Code, Architectural Barriers Act, National Fire Protection Association standards, and the National Electric Code across all SCIF modification and construction projects. You will be expected to complete construction design reviews for ICD 705 compliance within five business days of receipt, develop monthly mechanical system reliability assessments, identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies, and conduct regulatory compliance reviews that achieve 100% validation by government review.

Requirements

  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio (Mechanical)
  • 15+ years' experience; familiarity with ICD 705 construction
  • Extensive experience in HVAC and control systems design
  • Active TS/SCI and SAP clearances

Responsibilities

  • Apply Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 requirements to ensure ICD 705 compliance of construction designs and plans and coordinate construction contractor-customer interfaces during construction.
  • Provide advanced facility engineering, operations, planning, and programming for NSIC operating locations.
  • Provide mechanical system reliability and resiliency engineering to assure highly available intelligence mission facilities.
  • Assist NSIC in developing, executing and monitoring facility maintenance and sustainment programs.
  • Provide expertise for facility planning and operation in compliance with regulatory codes, such as the United Facility Code (UFC), Architectural Barriers Act (ABA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and National Electric Code (NEC) for all SCIF modification and construction projects.
  • Completes reviews of construction designs and plans for ICD 705 compliance within 5 business days of receipt.
  • Develop monthly Mechanical System Reliability.
  • Identify potential risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Complete regulatory compliance reviews (UFC, NFPA, etc.) that result in findings where at 100% are validated by government review.
