About The Position

This is a full-time Facility Engineer position on the 3rd shift. The role involves providing routine repairs and preventative/cleaning services to various facility systems and equipment, including swimming pools, saunas, whirlpools, stage equipment, convention hall equipment, cleaning equipment, and environmental controls. The engineer will also be responsible for repairing or replacing light bulbs and water filters, observing and documenting property damage or defects, and accurately entering information into departmental records. Recommendations are to be made to the facilities manager, and the engineer must demonstrate the ability to work independently, be reliable, prompt, and maintain an acceptable attendance record. Adherence to all established rules, regulations, procedures, and policies of North Star Mohican Casino Resort and the Maintenance Department, as well as the Casino's Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy, is required. The duties listed are not exhaustive and may change based on organizational needs.

Requirements

  • At least two years of commercial trades experience in one of the following fields: construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, millwright, electronics, or general building maintenance.
  • Above-average carpentry, finishing, and general construction skills.
  • Task-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work from written directions, assembly instructions, and/or shop drawings independently and within time constraints.
  • Ability to read and understand basic assembly instructions and architectural/shop drawings as they relate to commercial buildings, mechanicals, equipment assembly, and basic electronics.
  • Effective knowledge of all job-related tools.
  • Basic computer skills, such as how to log onto a central computer system and navigate through a series of menus and enter daily activities in a computerized format.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide routine repairs and preventative/cleaning services to swimming pools, sauna, whirlpools, stage equipment, convention hall equipment, and cleaning equipment in accordance with organizational and/or manufacturer requirements.
  • Provide routine repairs and preventative/cleaning services to environmental controls, including air exchange filters, smoke eater filters, and air ducts.
  • Repair and/or replace light bulbs and water filters as needed.
  • Observe, document, and repair any damage or defects found throughout routine inspections/evaluations of the property during the work shift.
  • Accurately enter information into departmental records on a schedule determined by the facilities manager and/or department director to document dates and times of preventive and/or repair services provided to systems, components, or fixtures.
  • Make recommendations to the facilities manager on a schedule determined by the facilities manager and/or department director.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently with little or no supervision and complete assigned tasks within the allotted timeframe.
  • Be reliable and prompt when reporting to work.
  • Maintain an acceptable departmental attendance record.
  • Wear the approved departmental uniform.
  • Perform the physical requirements of the job.
  • Adhere to all established rules, regulations, procedures, and policies of North Star Mohican Casino Resort and the Maintenance Department.
  • Adhere to the Casino’s Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy during employment.
  • Maintain compliance with all workplace policies, procedures, ordinances, laws, and other communicated expectations, including but not limited to: Employment Handbook, Gaming Ordinance, State Gaming Compact, Minimum Internal Controls, Department Procedures, memos, and other communications from supervisory or regulatory personnel.
