The Facility Educator will be responsible for understanding and applying OBRA Regulations and principles of adult learning. This role involves collaboration with facility department directors to orient and educate staff, ensuring all mandatory and regulatory education requirements are met. The educator will conduct competencies in nursing practices, focusing on complex patient management, and regularly assess educational needs to identify areas for improvement. This position assumes responsibility for directing in-service educational programs to comply with Federal, OSHA, State, and JACHO Regulations, as well as corporate policy. Key duties include preparing, scheduling, and selecting instructional materials, equipment, and training aids to provide meaningful in-service programs. The educator will also schedule and communicate training programs, ensure necessary equipment and operators are available, and conduct regular staff meetings and education sessions. Responsibilities extend to preparing training areas, recommending equipment and supply needs, assessing staff learning needs, and working with the Corporate Education & Development department. The role includes facilitating training for electronic software programs and required certifications like Intravenous and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, maintaining attendance and documentation, assisting licensed/certified personnel in maintaining their credentials, obtaining CPR instructor certification, and coordinating the Employee Health Program.
