The Facility Educator will be responsible for understanding and applying OBRA Regulations and principles of adult learning. They will collaborate with facility department directors to orient and educate staff, ensuring all mandatory and regulatory education requirements are met. This role involves conducting competencies in nursing practice, particularly with medically complex patients, and regularly assessing facility education needs to identify areas for improvement. The educator will assume responsibility for directing in-service educational programs to comply with Federal, OSHA, State, and JACHO Regulations, as well as corporate policy. This includes preparing, scheduling, and selecting instructional materials, equipment, and training aids to provide state-of-the-art in-service programs. They will schedule and communicate training programs based on facility needs, ensure necessary equipment and operators are available, and conduct regular meetings and education for all staff. The role also involves preparing training classrooms, recommending equipment and supply needs, assessing staff learning needs, and working with the Corporate Education & Development department. Additionally, the Facility Educator will facilitate training for electronic software programs and required certifications like Intravenous and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, maintain attendance and documentation, assist licensed/certified nursing personnel in obtaining in-service training, obtain certification as a CPR instructor, and coordinate the Employee Health Program.
