About The Position

The Budd Group is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Facility Director to lead facility operations at a premier private school located in Chatham, VA. This role involves leading day-to-day campus operations, overseeing a team of maintenance, janitorial, and landscaping staff, directing third-party contractors, and managing capital projects. The position requires a strong mechanical background and proven team leadership experience.

Requirements

Strong mechanical background (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
Proven team leadership experience
Valid driver's license
Strong hands-on technical background in mechanical systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
Demonstrated capability to direct, motivate, and hold a multidisciplinary team accountable
Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
Flexibility to handle emergency calls and key weekend events on campus

Responsibilities

Leading and holding accountable a dedicated team handling maintenance, housekeeping, and landscaping.
Serving as the primary mechanical expert troubleshooting HVAC, plumbing, and electrical issues.
Communicating proactively with campus leadership and ensuring prompt follow-through on all work orders and projects.
Managing seasonal operations, including campus snow removal and special event prep.
Overseeing third-party contractors and project schedules.
Handling emergency calls and key weekend events on campus.
