About The Position

The Facility Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and security of the recreation building and surrounding areas. This role involves a variety of tasks to ensure the facility is presentable, safe, and operational during business hours, and secured after hours. The custodian will also assist with various maintenance and cleaning duties as needed, including vehicle cleaning, kitchen clean-up, laundry, and pool maintenance.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED is required.
Three (3) months' experience in building maintenance.
Must have dependable transportation.
Requires a valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving history.

Nice To Haves

Buffer and floor maintenance experience preferred.
May be required to possess and maintain additional certifications depending on area of assignment.

Responsibilities

Assure recreation building is unlocked during business hours and locked and secured by setting alarms after hours.
Set up for programs, inside and outside of buildings, and clean after programs are completed.
Request supplies and maintain inventory.
Sweep, mop, wax floors; clean and disinfect all restrooms, sinks, and water fountains; empty trash, and clean offices.
Clean furniture, glass, and mirrors; raise and lower flags; clean surrounding areas of facility to include parking lots; sweep entrance ramps and porches; replace bulbs.
Make minor emergency repairs as needed and report repairs to the facility supervisor.
Clean facility transportation vehicles.
Assist in kitchen clean-up and with laundering duties, when necessary.
Assist in pool maintenance if needed.
Keep daily maintenance checklist and supply of necessary forms.
Complete required forms for completed jobs.
Perform other related duties as required.
