About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Facility Attendant to join their team at their program in Philadelphia, PA. The Fresh Start transitional housing programs provide 24/7 support to Veterans and individuals with a history of homelessness, chemical dependency, and varying degrees of behavioral health issues. These programs operate out of 12 locations in Philadelphia and work in partnership with the Philadelphia VA Medical Centers and Philadelphia’s Office of Addiction Services (OAS). Fresh Start also offers "self-pay" housing options for indefinite stays.

Requirements

• Bilingual (English / Spanish) required
• 18 years old minimum required

Nice To Haves

• High School or GED preferred
• Effective communication skills
• Previous experience working with VA population preferred
• Prior experience in Residential or Drug and Alcohol treatment setting is preferred

Responsibilities

• Monitor residents' behavior.
• Ensure a safe, harassment-free atmosphere conducive to recovery.
• Perform building checks for cleanliness and safety, including all rooms.
• Complete incident reporting, including writing incident reports, reporting immediately to supervisor or program manager, and following Merakey policy.
• Monitor residents while they take their prescribed medication, reporting all medication monitoring issues to the immediate supervisor and following Merakey incident report policy.
• Monitor assigned chores (if applicable) and ensure general inspections (GI's) are done properly.
• Complete assigned trainings within mandated time frames.
