About The Position

The Facilities Technician will be responsible for facility and grounds upkeep. You must be a well-rounded individual who can perform on a variety of equipment units, perform building maintenance, and assist with basic groundskeeping.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Degree or GED Equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or related technical field preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, medical device, or regulated environment preferred.
  • Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems strongly preferred.
  • Prior Maintenance Technician experience
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and facility drawings
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds as necessary

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, repairs, and renovates physical office environment through tool use and contractor sourcing and supervision.
  • Assists in office reorganization through furniture and equipment moves.
  • Repairs malfunctioning equipment and certain functional elements of the building.
  • May help to install machinery systems
  • May install and maintain ventilation and refrigeration units as necessary
  • Maintains/oversees plumbing system upkeep.
  • Performs Quality Checks on equipment regularly to ensure everything is in working order per pre-defined preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Perform peer-to-peer inspections on work performed by our other maintenance technicians
  • Create inspection and repair schedules
  • Perform groundskeeping work as needed
  • Oversee pest control duties performed by pest control contractor
  • Train employees on proper equipment usage
  • Assist in on-the-job-training and supervision of janitorial staff
  • Perform administrative computer tasks as needed
  • Provide on-call maintenance support for facility-related issues as needed.
  • Manage inventory of janitorial and general office supplies
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on facility systems and production support equipment.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and service records.
  • Monitor and maintain facility utility systems including compressed air, argon, and HVAC.
  • Respond to facility emergencies including utility failures, leaks, equipment breakdowns, and alarm conditions.
  • Support production operations by responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Perform daily facility walks to maintain operational standards and identify maintenance needs.
