About The Position
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining the building, grounds, and facility systems within a window and door manufacturing plant. This role focuses on facility upkeep, improvement projects, and infrastructure support while providing basic assistance to the maintenance team when needed. The position helps ensure that maintenance technicians can remain focused on critical equipment uptime by managing facility-related tasks and projects.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of facilities or maintenance experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain lighting, HVAC, plumbing, doors, docks, and building structures.
- Perform general repairs, painting, and facility upkeep.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of maintenance and common areas.
- Assist with equipment relocation, layout changes, and facility upgrades.
- Install shelving, racks, and workstations.
- Support contractors and complete assigned projects on time.
- Assist Maintenance Technicians with basic mechanical tasks.
- Support equipment cleaning, adjustments, and setup.
- Escalate complex issues to Maintenance Technicians.
- Assist with PM tasks such as lubrication and inspections.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and project records.
- Follow all safety procedures including LOTO and OSHA standards.
- Report hazards and support a safe work environment.
- Complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Maintain reliable attendance.
- Respond quickly to facility needs.
- Support maintenance without impacting production priorities.
