About The Position

Ruth & Naomi’s Mission has been serving the Chilliwack community for over 20 years. We are a Christian faith-based organization committed to walking alongside people on a journey of recovery demonstrating the love of Jesus. We are seeking a Facilities Technician to support the maintenance and repair needs across Ruth & Naomi’s Mission facilities. This role plays an important part in keeping our buildings, equipment, and grounds safe, functional, and welcoming for residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors. The Facilities Technician completes repairs and preventative maintenance across multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, helping ensure our facilities operate smoothly across all locations. This position works closely with the Facilities Lead, alongside the Custodian, and supports coordination with the Facilities & Safety Coordinator across multiple sites.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience completing maintenance work across multiple trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC)
  • First Aid Level 1 and WHMIS certification
  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple maintenance priorities across sites
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organization and time-management skills
  • Willingness to respect and uphold the mission and values of Ruth & Naomi’s Mission

Nice To Haves

  • Trades training, certification, or equivalent hands-on experience (strongly preferred)
  • Experience using MaintainX or similar maintenance work-order systems (an asset)

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and routine maintenance across multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC within scope
  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems to identify maintenance needs
  • Patch, paint, and repair walls, doors, fixtures, and surfaces as required
  • Complete assigned work orders using MaintainX
  • Respond to urgent maintenance needs such as plumbing leaks, electrical issues, and HVAC concerns
  • Support inventory tracking and flag low maintenance supplies
  • Mentor and support the Custodian on light maintenance tasks where appropriate
  • Assist with event setup, execution, and breakdown across locations
  • Support seasonal site needs such as snow or debris removal
  • Follow workplace health and safety requirements and maintenance documentation procedures

Benefits

  • $28.84 – $30.90 per hour (dependent on experience)
  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Monday–Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm (additional hours may be required based on operational needs)
  • Travel between Chilliwack sites required
