About The Position

The Facilities Technician will be responsible for the development of policies and procedures to effectively carry out safety, facility maintenance and performance, training and quality assurance programs. This role has overall responsibility for facility-related preventative and unscheduled maintenance processes, ensuring that all required reports are delivered on time, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The technician will ensure compliance with the ISO-9001 quality program for facility maintenance and is responsible for the day-to-day oversight, management and leadership of the Crossroads maintenance facilities. This includes ensuring safety, coordinating periodic planned maintenance, and coordinating all sub-contractors’ activities. The role also involves responsibility for FRA compliance at each VRE Yard, including documents, records, and reporting. Additionally, the technician will assist in ensuring that customer service issues related to facility defects are resolved promptly and professionally, ensure timely communication of accurate information to senior management of other departments for planning commuter operations, and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service that meets or exceeds passenger expectations. Maintaining a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and FRA regulations is also a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

  • Experience in developing policies and procedures for safety, facility maintenance, performance, training, and quality assurance.
  • Experience in managing preventative and unscheduled maintenance processes.
  • Proficiency in report generation and timely delivery.
  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of ISO-9001 quality program for facility maintenance.
  • Experience in facility oversight, management, and leadership.
  • Experience in coordinating planned maintenance.
