About The Position

The Part-Time Facilities Technician is responsible for ensuring the Fenney location is clean, safe, functional, and ready for patient care before the practice opens each morning. This position performs routine facility inspections, manages the HVAC lighting control system, completes minor maintenance, minor landscape, and repairs, and proactively identifies facility concerns to maintain a professional healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous facilities maintenance, handyman, or building maintenance experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Experience operating building automation or lighting control systems is preferred (training on the HVAC system will be provided if needed).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor the HVAC lighting control system to ensure proper lighting schedules and functionality throughout the facility.
  • Perform daily opening inspections of the building to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Complete minor building repairs, including but not limited to: Replacing light bulbs and ceiling tiles, Tightening or repairing door hardware, Minor plumbing repairs (e.g., replacing faucet aerators, unclogging sinks), Minor drywall and paint touch-ups, Adjusting furniture and equipment.
  • Ensure patient and staff areas are clean, organized, and safe prior to opening.
  • Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests as assigned.
  • Identify maintenance issues requiring outside vendors and report them to the Facilities Manager.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled.
  • Maintain inventory of commonly used maintenance supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.
  • Assist with setting up or moving office furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and OSHA regulations related to facility maintenance.
  • Maintain professional communication with physicians, staff, vendors, and management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the practice.
