About The Position

Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Technician. Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. This position is located in our West Jordan UT. facility and reports to the Director of Facilities. The Facilities Technician will maintain cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of facility buildings and grounds through routine cleaning, machine operation, and repair tasks. Perform floor care, equipment handling, and facility setup while following safety procedures and supporting daily operational needs as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of relevant experience as a Maintenance/ Facility tech.
  • In depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Hand on experience with hand and electrical tools.
  • Skilled in the operation and maintenance of cleaning equipment and machinery.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Manual dexterity and physical stamina.
  • Current computer literacy is a must, including full proficiency in the use of the entire Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and a working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems a plus.
  • US. Person under 22 CFR 120 (due to ITAR Restrictions)

Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning activities including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and machine operation.
  • Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and maintaining facility appearance.
  • Inspect and repair damages to building surfaces including patching, painting, drywall, and finishing work.
  • Perform minor repairs and participate in renovation and facility improvement projects.
  • Maintain, service, clean, and properly store maintenance equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Install appliances and equipment as directed.
  • Check control panels, electrical wiring, and safety systems including fire alarms to identify issues and ensure functionality.
  • Install new or repair electrical wires and outlets, troubleshoot and test electrical controls.
  • Report maintenance concerns and repair needs to facilities or maintenance management.
  • Perform garden and yard upkeep including mowing lawns and collecting trash.
  • Assist with general construction practices including framing, drywall, finishing, and painting.
  • Move equipment, furniture, and supplies safely while supporting operational needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
