About The Position

The Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems business is a trusted provider of innovative naval gas and hybrid power systems, control technology and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and navies around the world. This role involves setting up, maintaining, and repairing equipment and systems within the facility within the area of expertise of the technician.

Requirements

  • High school or trade school diploma
  • Solid working knowledge of building codes, OSHA requirements, and knowledge of safe working techniques and procedures
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer license in specific specialty with 4+ years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Set up, maintain and/or repair equipment and/or systems within the facility within area of expertise
  • Follow maintenance schedule to ensure regular and preventive maintenance work assignments are completed when required
  • Perform service calls, repairs, and equipment installations as directed
  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostic evaluations, and routine inspections on physical plant systems and equipment as required
  • Maintain an inventory of parts and tools, and keep assigned storage areas clean and organized
  • Follow company and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines in daily work routines and assignments
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Complete appropriate paperwork in a proper manner for the purchase, stocking, and/or use of all materials, parts, and components required for work order completion
  • Ensure work orders contain appropriate and accurate information before submitting completed work orders
  • May lead less experience employees
  • Recommends cost savings strategies and techniques that will not compromise quality and individual safety
  • Support and communicate the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Perform other related tasks or special duties as assigned
