Facilities Technician II
About The Position
As a member of the machine/building maintenance team, the person in this position proficiently performs repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on buildings, facilities, equipment, and fixtures. This role involves diagnosing mechanical problems, performing maintenance services and repairs in areas such as carpentry, painting, and plastering, and repairing or replacing defective equipment parts. The technician will also assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and equipment, while inspecting, operating, and testing machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
Requirements
- Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires at least 2 years related experience.
- Strong knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Strong Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings, or other structures.
- Strong Knowledge of design techniques, tools, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance service and repairs in the areas of carpentry, painting and plastering.
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools, power tools and reassemble equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary.
- Inspect drives, motors and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions following checklists.
- Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
- Inspect, operate and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
