About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Facilities Technician II for their 1st shift. This role involves performing typical maintenance tasks to support the assembly floor and the entire facility. The technician will be responsible for detecting and reporting defective materials or questionable conditions, maintaining a clean and orderly work area and equipment, and performing preventative maintenance. The position requires the use of various hand and power tools, material handling equipment, and operating a motorized sweeper, with training provided to other facilities maintenance staff on its use. The role also includes performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Dependable, Punctual, Detail Oriented, Good Communication skills verbal and written.
  • Ability to read/write in English is preferred and bilingual is preferred.
  • High School education or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in a Leadership role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and experienced in IBM business system.
  • Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach, stand and lift at least 75lbs.
  • Able to comply with all company policies and procedures, including all safety regulations.
  • Ability to follow Supervisors instructions/directions as given.
  • Possess the following skills: problem solving, teamwork, communication, leadership and initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned work independently and as part of a team.
  • Perform typical maintenance tasks to support the assembly floor and the entire facility.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machinery and the building or grounds as required.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Run motorized sweeper throughout the facility and train all facilities maintenance on this equipment.
  • Ensure facilities area and work areas are kept clean and orderly.
  • Understand and perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action.
  • Provide leadership in the areas of communication, conflict resolution and problem solving.
  • Drive continuous improvement (demonstrate initiative and follow through).
  • Work and motivate Associates and have a Strong attention to details.
