About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Facilities Technician II for their 1st shift. This role involves performing maintenance tasks to support the assembly floor and the entire facility. The technician will detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions, maintain a clean work area and equipment, and perform preventative maintenance. They will use various hand and power tools, material handling equipment, and operate a motorized sweeper. The position requires understanding and performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Requirements

  • Dependable, Punctual, Detail Oriented, Good Communication skills verbal and written.
  • Ability to read/write in English is preferred and bilingual is preferred.
  • High School education or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in a Leadership role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and experienced in IBM business system.
  • Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach, stand and lift at least 75lbs.
  • Able to comply with all company policies and procedures, including all safety regulations.
  • Ability to follow Supervisors instructions/directions as given.
  • Possess the following skills: problem solving, teamwork, communication, leadership and initiative.
  • Ability to provide leadership in the areas of communication, conflict resolution and problem solving.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement (demonstrate initiative and follow through).
  • Demonstrated ability to work and motivate Associates and have a Strong attention to details.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in building maintenance, plant maintenance or general maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned work independently and as part of a team.
  • Performs typical maintenance tasks to support the assembly floor and the entire facility.
  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machinery and the building or grounds as required.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Runs motorized sweeper throughout the facility and trains all facilities maintenance on this equipment.
  • Ensure facilities area and work areas are kept clean and orderly.
  • Understand and perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action.
