About The Position

Kendal at Hanover is a non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community, employing over 300 staff members and home to 400 residents. Kendal at Hanover is seeking a skilled and dependable Facilities Technician II to join our Facilities team. You’ll be responsible for maintaining, inspecting, and repairing building systems and equipment to support a safe and reliable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

  • A technical education in HVAC/refrigeration, building systems, mechanical systems or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of HVAC experience, facilities maintenance, mechanical or building systems experience, with demonstrated knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
  • A valid, unexpired driver's license and be insurable under the Kendal vehicle insurance policy
  • Strong troubleshooting ability with experience repairing and maintaining complex mechanical systems and equipment
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • The ability to operate computers for building systems and documentation
  • The physical ability to lift up to 150 pounds and frequently climb, bend, crawl, and work indoors/outdoors

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with predictive maintenance technologies (IR thermography, vibration analysis, ultrasound, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, refrigeration, and building systems
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment including air handlers, pumps, motors, valves, VFDs, controls, refrigeration systems, and commercial kitchen equipment
  • Utilizing predictive maintenance tools such as infrared thermography, vibration analysis, ultrasound, and motor testing to identify issues and improve equipment reliability
  • Operating, monitoring, and optimizing building systems including BMS, HVAC controls, fire alarms, security, and access control systems
  • Performing electrical and plumbing repairs, including lighting, outlets, motors, and fixtures
  • Conducting inspections, rounds, and system monitoring to identify issues and collect data
  • Completing work orders and record documentation accurately within the CMMS
  • Managing small to medium facility projects, including planning, coordination, and quality oversight
  • Responding to building system emergencies, urgent maintenance requests, operational issues, and supporting security rounds
