About The Position

We are looking for a Facilities Technician I for the Will Rogers Memorial Center (WRMC). The Facilities Technician I performs skilled maintenance, installation, and fabrication tasks in the assigned trades (Welder, Roofer, Painter, and Building Equipment Operator) area of responsibility. Follows a preventive maintenance schedule for equipment and provides technical support to the assigned supervisory personnel. This position will be 100% on-site.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Minimum high school graduate or GED required.
  • Must have a minimum of 3+ years of verifiable assigned trade skills and capabilities.
  • Must have a state of Texas motor vehicle license.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Provide Superior customer service experience.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Able to communicate effectively with management, guests, and team members.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in commercial facility maintenance.
  • A trade school graduate with specialized training in trade skills and/or a building-related field, which could include HVAC, Electrical or equivalent work experience.
  • Other engineering or maintenance certifications are desirable, i.e., ASE Certifications, HVAC, Refrigeration, or Plumbing.
  • Experience and/or training in the public assembly facility management industry preferred.
  • Knowledgeable with all applicable laws, codes, ordinances, safety precautions, and emergency procedures related to facility management preferred.
  • Keyboarding skills and computer proficiency with software knowledge including MS Office preferred.
  • Experience in operating a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop work plans and schedules to provide services in an assigned trades area.
  • Employs safe work practices and follows safety guidelines established by Gendy Street Management.
  • Maintains appropriate records, writes reports, and prepares correspondence as assigned.
  • Establishes and follows a preventative maintenance schedule for equipment in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Inspects and cleans tools after use.
  • Orders and maintains supplies according to established City and departmental procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
