Under direct supervision, Facilities Technician C performs a wide variety of semi-skilled tasks involving construction, alteration, maintenance, repair, and servicing of District buildings, facilities, equipment, and electrical and mechanical systems; and performs related duties as assigned. Facilities Technician C may be assigned to perform any work generally assigned to a Porter in the Facilities Department or to assist Facilities Technicians A or B. Shift subject to change per requirements of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Facilities Technician C will perform basic tasks related to facilities, bus stops, equipment or systems including but not limited to electrical and cabling systems, lighting systems, alarm/security systems, heating/air conditioning systems (HVAC), building/shop equipment and bus stop shelters. Typical assignments may include preventative maintenance, preventative maintenance inspections, minor electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, painting, data/communications cabling and lock repair. Some assignments involve the operation of light and medium-duty motorized vehicles and related equipment.
