Under general supervision, Facilities Technician B performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of buildings, facilities, operating equipment, electrical, and mechanical systems. This role handles simple and difficult projects, including those that are non-routine and non-recurring. The Facilities Technician B may also perform duties typically assigned to a Facilities Technician C or Utility Worker, or assist a Facilities Technician A. The shift schedule is subject to change based on the requirements of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Facilities Technician B will perform tasks related to facilities, bus stops, equipment, or systems including, but not limited to, electrical and cabling systems, lighting systems, alarm/security systems, heating/air conditioning systems (HVAC), building/shop equipment, and bus stop shelters. Typical assignments may include electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, painting, data/communications cabling, lock repair, and welding. Some assignments involve operating light and medium-duty motorized vehicles and related equipment.
