About The Position

The Facilities Technician (Part Time) at SEALIFE San Antonio is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting all areas of the attraction. This includes HVAC, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing systems, as well as themed attractions. The role requires hands-on problem-solving to minimize downtime and ensure the maximum guest experience. Responsibilities also encompass custodial duties, lighting systems, painting and wall repair, handling tech equipment, shipping and receiving, and exhibit setup/takedown. A key aspect is maintaining and troubleshooting Audio Visual equipment for exhibits, installing and replacing components like light bulbs and doors, and performing work order repairs and inspections. The technician will also troubleshoot, repair, or replace control devices, complete preventative maintenance tasks, repair and paint interior walls, assemble furniture, and set up data cables and computer outlets. Monitoring building systems, reporting safety hazards, and observing safe working practices are essential. The role requires the ability to operate various hand and power tools and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • At least two years of maintenance experience preferred
  • At least two years of service industry experience in a technical/themed environment to include animation, automation, hydraulics, pneumatic, electrical/electronics, and networks.
  • Experience of maintaining flexibility and the highest level of service.
  • Weekend availability

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot all areas of the attraction including HVAC, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing systems as well as themed attractions.
  • Apply hands-on knowledge and experience to tackle problems to sustain minimal downtime of themed attractions for the maximum guest experience.
  • Perform custodial duties, re-lamping & lighting systems, painting and wall repair, tech equipment, shipping and receiving as well as exhibit setup and takedown.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Audio Visual equipment for both old and new exhibits.
  • Install and/or replace light bulbs, projector lamps, doors, etc.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain attraction systems, rides, and equipment.
  • Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, or replace control devices.
  • Complete “Preventative Maintenance” tasks (Daily, Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Monthly, etc.).
  • Repair and/or paint interior walls, hang pictures; assemble furniture.
  • Set-up and install data cables as needed; install and repair computer outlets and computer bundles.
  • Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned.
  • Correct or report any safety or fire hazards.
  • Observe safe working practices, including maintaining storage areas clean, organized and in safe condition.
  • Set-up and operate various hand tools and power equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
