The primary liaison between the facility maintenance team and the facility supervisor for communicating work that needs to be scheduled, manpower issues and other challenges that facility may have to meet.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years’ experience preferred and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills using specific maintenance software.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions presented in English.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Able to comfortably and logically put together a parts list for a project/install or repair.
  • EPA Certificate, required
  • Valid Driver License. Cannot have more than two infractions within the last three years.
  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer leadership experience in facility environment
  • Demonstrated trouble-shooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills, positive attitude
  • Prefer previous Preventative Maintenance System experience
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Experience operating heavy equipment (i.e. Bobcat)
  • Knowledge of water towers, compressors and boilers preferred is a plus
  • Sound driving record to drive company vehicles, and ability to obtain a forklift license
  • Must be able to give instructions in a positive and constructive way
  • Must be able to work overtime, including weekends, and be flexible with working different shifts as needed
  • HVAC Certificate, is a plus
  • Plumbing certification, is a plus
  • Electrical Certificate, is a plus
  • Mechanical Contractors License, is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Observes all Safety policies and procedures as outlined within Newell Brands’ Safety Excellence and Leadership (SEAL) program.
  • Drive success through the Company’s Planning, Engagement, Awareness and Knowledge (PEAK) continuous improvement program.
  • Personally responsible for upholding the Newell Brands Values and the Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation for compliance with Newell Brands’ Housekeeping standards.
  • Receive work orders from supervisor and communicate orders to the team
  • Schedules the manpower and equipment to complete orders
  • Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures
  • Must maintain high standards of quality in work team performance
  • Report on team member performance issues such as non-observance of standard procedures or lack of productivity to the supervisor
  • Assign facility team to Preventative Maintenance work orders and ensure work is done in a timely manner
  • Responsible for team completing all demand maintenance work orders
  • Coordinate requisition of parts and supplies
  • Responsible for documentation of work orders, filing, tracking costs of demand and preventative maintenance projects
  • Will also perform work orders
  • Does include some work outdoors throughout the year
  • Other duties as assigned
