About The Position

The Facilities Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment within the Rochester facility, including controlled cleanroom and TS/SCI (SCIF) environments. Successfully obtaining a TS/SCI clearance. This role supports daily operations by performing routine cleaning, sanitation, and specialized cleanroom decontamination tasks to ensure all areas meet company standards, regulatory requirements, security protocols, and contamination control guidelines. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, security-sensitive environment. This position plays a critical role in supporting workplace efficiency, product integrity, and mission readiness.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and contamination control practices
  • Ability to learn and strictly follow cleanroom protocols, including gowning and decontamination procedures
  • Ability to adhere to security requirements and work within TS/SCI-controlled environments
  • Ability to follow instructions, safety guidelines, and detailed procedural compliance requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a secure environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, as required for site operations
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work assigned shift (Shift 1) and on-site in Rochester, NY
  • Must adhere to cleanroom gowning and contamination control requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Current or prior experience in janitorial, custodial, facilities support, or cleanroom environments preferred but not required
  • Experience working in a corporate, manufacturing, government, or TS/SCI-controlled facility
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and cleanroom regulations (e.g., ISO classifications)
  • Experience supporting SCIF or other secure environments
  • Experience with industrial cleaning equipment (e.g., floor buffers, auto scrubbers)
  • Experience with cleanroom decontamination procedures and controlled environment cleaning
  • Basic maintenance knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning and decontamination of offices, restrooms, breakrooms, hallways, common areas, and TS/SCI-controlled cleanroom environments
  • Execute cleanroom cleaning protocols including gowning procedures and use of approved materials, techniques, and contamination control practices
  • Support cleaning and maintenance within SCIF spaces in compliance with security and access requirements
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors and surfaces using contamination-controlled methods
  • Empty trash and recycling bins, including proper handling of cleanroom and classified waste streams in accordance with procedures
  • Restock supplies such as paper products, soap, cleaning materials, and cleanroom consumables
  • Maintain cleaning and cleanroom equipment and report any repair or calibration needs
  • Follow safety protocols, chemical handling procedures, cleanroom standards, and security compliance requirements
  • Support facility and cleanroom setup for meetings, audits, inspections, or program needs
  • Identify and report maintenance, safety, security, or contamination control issues to management
