About The Position

The Facilities Support Associate position plays an important role in keeping the Museum’s building, grounds, and public spaces clean, safe, functional, and welcoming. This hands-on role supports routine maintenance, housekeeping, shipping and receiving, event setup, and moving furnishings and fixtures throughout the Museum. Working under the Facility Operations Manager, this position helps ensure day-to-day facility needs are addressed efficiently and that incoming materials are properly received and communicated. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, adaptable, and takes pride in maintaining high standards throughout the Museum.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of basic hand tools and accurate measurement skills, including proficient use of a tape measure.
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate floor care equipment, including power scrubbers and carpet extractors.
  • Knowledgeable in the proper handling, dilution, and application of cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to identify facility-related issues and clearly communicate concerns to management in a timely manner.
  • Competent in the safe and proper use of ladders for various maintenance tasks.
  • Knowledge of general safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience operating facility maintenance equipment and performing minor repairs required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Facility Operations Manager with public area lighting and HVAC systems maintenance
  • Housekeeping and maintenance of the interior of the building
  • Maintenance and upkeep of the exterior of the building and grounds
  • Maintenance support for all Private Events and Museum Programs
  • Shipping and receiving of all “Non-Art” materials
  • Cleaning of all interior surfaces and facilities
  • Cleaning/Maintaining the exterior of the building: sidewalks, windows, doors, trash receptacles, flower beds and dock area
  • Moving of furnishings and fixtures at the direction of the Facility Operations Manager
  • Receive and deliver all incoming mail and package deliveries, advise the Museum Registrar of all artifact deliveries
  • Removal of all trash from the Museum galleries, roof terrace, administrative wing and exterior of the building
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
