About The Position

The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for leading and performing duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes that support the achievement of the retail site’s business goals and objectives. This role involves monitoring and assigning work orders, collaborating with the facilities team, vendors, and property management on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance. The supervisor ensures prompt response to work orders and emergencies, provides excellent customer service, and maintains inventory and documentation libraries. They will also inspect buildings, assist with vendor scheduling and oversight, manage purchasing within budget, and communicate with management regarding maintenance functions. Participation in company-provided training and compliance with safety regulations are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of facilities management experience.
  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and commercial maintenance experience.
  • Experience in organizing, planning, and leading a team of facilities technicians.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Frequently sit for extended periods; occasionally stand, walk, reach, handle objects, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform physical labor related to maintenance tasks. If a task requires lifting beyond the recommended weight limit, employees will receive appropriate assistance, equipment, or team lifting support in compliance with Cal/OSHA safety regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire life safety.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Possess a valid CA driver's license.

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electrical, HVAC, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, perform, and/or assign incoming work order requests and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Work with facilities team, vendors, and property management office to identify problems and repairs in the areas of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance repairs.
  • Ensure work order requests are responded to promptly and professionally.
  • Provide excellent customer service to prospective and current tenants.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure) and address customer concerns.
  • Maintain an inventory control program for parts and supplies procurement.
  • Maintain a comprehensive facility document library, including construction plans, equipment manuals, and compliance documentation.
  • Inspect buildings and grounds to proactively identify deficiencies and required repairs.
  • Assist with scheduling and communicating with vendors and contractors.
  • Assist with obtaining bids from outside contractors, as well as oversee contractor work for completeness.
  • Assists with purchasing maintenance supplies for the property while staying within the planned budget.
  • Communicate with management regarding the overall maintenance function of the property.
  • Participate in company-provided training such as safety, non-discrimination, and harassment prevention.
  • Comply with all Company National Standards, applicable health, and safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Upward reporting on budgets, energy accounting, and productivity.
  • Oversee and monitors the purchases and requisitions of each department, as well as accounts payable (payable to the vendors / suppliers etc.).
  • Interacting with contractors, vendors, and consultants in an unbiased, objective, and ethical manner.
  • Oversees facility and property improvement projects, from planning and budgeting to execution and completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
