About The Position

Working with the facilities team, performs a variety of tasks in the repair, servicing and general maintenance of the school physical plant and equipment. Extended knowledge of MEPs is required, along with a willingness to support the team in day-to-day activities as needed.

High school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of experience with general buildings and grounds maintenance are required.
Must possess a well-rounded background in facilities maintenance-related tasks and have a willingness to grow and expand knowledge base.
Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring, engage in prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding; must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written documents, professional literature, and other material.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, install, and repair basic electrical components.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain basic HVAC-related equipment.
Perform plumbing repairs on PVC, copper, steel, and cast-iron piping; unclog drains and replace faulty valves as needed.
Employ basic carpentry skills using carpentry equipment, including assembling furniture and utilizing basic framing concepts.
Perform preventative maintenance and safety rounds as assigned, and log findings.
Paint and apply miscellaneous finishes as needed, both interior and exterior.
Construct, repair, and maintain items such as furniture, equipment, partitions, and other parts of the school buildings, using hand and power tools, following oral and written instructions.
Act as part of a team to set up and break down events as requested.
Assist in basic clean-up as needed.
Assist in maintaining space management and inventory systems.
Secure the campus each night by locking all doors and arming all buildings.
Plan and execute projects from start to finish.
Work overtime and weekends as needed.
Positively contribute to the schoolwide community.
