About The Position

Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of BHFCU buildings and grounds, ensuring safe, functional, and welcoming environments across all properties.

Requirements

  • Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge.
  • Lawn maintenance, painting, and general repair skills.
  • Experience with small equipment (e.g., snow blowers, mowers, mini excavator, skid steer, loader, Toolcat, tractor).
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A sighted person to effectively review documents.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with staff, members and vendors.
  • Ability to perform necessary computer-related input.
  • Must be able to work outside for periods of time in all kinds of weather, performing tasks that require physical strength and endurance.
  • Daily tasks may include repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs., and occasional lifting up to 75 lbs, climbing ladders, snow removal, etc.
  • Some tasks require shoulder mobility to perform tasks above eye level.
  • Requires the ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to understand and follow moderately complex written and verbal instructions and disseminate that knowledge in a clear and understandable format to others.
  • Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to safely use various hand and power tools.

  • Ability to secure (chain and tie down) heavy equipment on trailers and operate vehicles hauling heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to perform job functions with supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to read and carry out various instructions and follow oral instructions.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Siemens Desigo and Honeywell BAS software preferred.
  • Have an elevated understanding of all knowledge requirements (refer to job knowledge).
  • Possess proficiency in utilizing Siemens Desigo and Honeywell Total Comfort BAS software.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC systems and interpret BAS data to diagnose issues and coordinate vendor repairs.
  • Have an advanced understanding of all knowledge requirements (refer to job knowledge).
  • Responsible for ongoing in-field development of FM I and FM II team members and provide equipment and tool training as needed.
  • Routinely communicate with vendors and contractors for basic questions, scheduling, and routine daily operations.
  • Identify and escalate issues with vendors/contractors to the Facilities and Fleet Maintenance Manager as needed.
  • Act as a back up to the Facilities and Fleet Maintenance Manager for on-call scheduling during inclement weather.
  • Act as a back up to the Facilities and Fleet Maintenance Manager for spot inspections on company properties to ensure satisfactory completion of work and adherence to professional standards at all locations.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and non-mechanical systems including electrical, plumbing, irrigation, and structural components.
  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment (e.g., loader, Toolcat, skid steer, excavator) and install attachments as needed.
  • Safely and efficiently operate lawn mowers, snow blowers, leaf blowers, weed eaters, generators, lift pumps, pressure washers, chemical and paint sprayers, and power tools.
  • Perform and log routine generator tests and transfers per preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Safely load, secure, and tow and haul heavy equipment using flatbed and enclosed trailers, ensuring proper load balancing and secure tie-downs.
  • Maintain HVAC systems by ordering and replacing filters and belts per maintenance schedules.
  • Perform daily care of grounds including snow removal, mowing, landscaping, and litter cleanup.
  • Prune trees and shrubs, water plants, and remove weeds.
  • Spread salt and shovel snow from walkways.
  • Repair and paint fences and outbuildings.
  • Replace filters, light bulbs, and perform minor plumbing/electrical repairs.
  • Assist with staff relocation logistics, furniture moves, meeting setups, and vendor coordination.
  • Maintain work orders and mileage logs.
  • Complete other tasks assigned by the Facilities & Fleet Maintenance Manager.
  • Serve as backup receptionist, greeting visitors, managing check-in/out procedures, printing badges, and monitoring front reception security protocols.
  • Operate postage machines and shipping software; perform routine maintenance.
  • Serve as backup for mailroom operations, including scanning, tracking, and shipping deliveries.
  • Lead onsite direction of assigned projects, providing in-house superintendent-type oversight to confirm projects are performed efficiently by staff and hired contractors.
  • Drive work order forecasting efficiencies by aligning internal operations with external stakeholders, reducing delays, and improving service delivery.
  • Oversee work order inspections by reviewing quality and completion standards, reporting findings to the Facility Manager, and leading team members in executing corrective actions.
