Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park. Facilities Engineering department works to create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and healing healthcare environment for our patients, families, and employees.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years experience
  • < 2 years supervisor experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/related
  • 5-10 years experience
  • 2-5 years supervisor experience

Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Directs and coordinates the activities of facility maintenance, housekeeping, security and other related service lines as assigned.
  • Directs and coordinates the activities of capital projects.
  • Oversees and tracks the requests for maintenance projects and the status of maintenance projects throughout the facility.
  • Provides consultation services to administration, managers and staff in regards to facilities and maintenance related issues and projects.
