We are currently seeking a Facilities Senior Specialist to join our team in Rockville, Maryland (US-MD), United States (US). Job Summary: Demonstrate proficiency with demountable wall products, modular systems, and freestanding furniture layouts. Note the necessary components to accomplish configurations and coordinate installation drawings with vendors, ensuring compliance with manufacturers' products and client design standards. Conduct market research for new product lines and vendor/dealership quotations. Prepare procurement packages, presentation documents, and deliverables with an emphasis on graphic communications and quality assurance, while adhering to the client's process. The ability to work effectively within a close-knit team, openly receive guidance, apply mature sensibilities for appropriate communication, and synthesize critical paths to achieve mission goals are essential aspects of this position. Job Duties: Detail-oriented with extensive knowledge of the furniture industry, furniture manufacturing, ordering, delivery, assembly/disassembly, installation, re-use management, pricing, materials, quality standards, shipping, and related considerations as it supports interior space planning and furniture asset sustainment. Prepare and coordinate schematics and Design Intent Drawings (DIDs), adhere to manufacturer and client space and furniture standards, conduct market research informing FF&E recommendations, scopes of work, project schedules and implementation oversight. Planning and Project coordination support including, but not limited to: Create planning packages for interior renovations/reconfiguration inclusive of architectural finishes, space plans, and FFE schematics with product recommendations. Coordinate existing base building conditions with interior design, FF&E elements and supporting technology requirements (power/data, AV, IT), facilitate move and relocation activities. Conduct site surveys/field verifications for compliance with approved Construction Documents (CDs) and shop drawings, inspect furniture installations, develop punch lists, monitor installation and remediation to completion. Manage documents and project records, base building/FF&E finish binders, summary reports, and ensure project metrics are consistent with client records management. Prepare IGCEs for budget planning; review price proposals and related contractors bids as requested. Evaluate A/E construction documents, shop/installation drawings, specifications, BOMs, and other documents for compliance with client’s standards. Monitor furniture procurements and lead times, interior build-out and installation activities to ensure compliance with project scope/schedule and budget and provide regular project status updates. Provide leadership/mentorship in the professional development of junior planning staff to improve communication, technical, analytical, and presentation skill sets. Regular intervals of communication with project team and stakeholder Point of Contact (POC) for project coordination and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • Equivalency: Four years additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree. Two full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education, masters, graduate, or professional degree may be substituted for one year of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a professional design studio environment.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience to include: Systems furniture, demountable wall space planning, budgeting, scheduling, installation oversight, punch list preparation, remediation, and project close-out coordination.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience to include: Specification coordination with vendors and installation.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust
