The Facilities Specialist is responsible for maintaining safe, functional, and efficient facilities. This role supports day-to-day building operations, coordinates and completes maintenance and repairs, manages vendors, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple facility-related needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in facilities, building maintenance, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices
  • Ability to read basic technical manuals, drawings, and schematics
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Hand and power tool experience
  • Basic computer skills (CMMS, work order systems, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification in related trade
  • Experience with CMMS or facilities management software
  • OSHA or safety training certifications
  • Experience in office, manufacturing, healthcare, or multi-site environments

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, etc.)
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and respond to facility service requests in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot basic facility issues and perform minor repairs as needed
  • Manage and supervise third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Support space planning, moves, and office setups
  • Operate company vehicles as needed to complete tasks
  • Assist with emergency preparedness and response procedures
  • Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and workplace experience
