Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant working experience, including time as a maintenance mechanic/technician in an industrial environment.
  • Must be available to work emergency service and shift work as required.
  • This position is based in the Knappco facility in Hamilton, OH.

Nice To Haves

  • 24 to 36 months of trade school (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lean systems and tools
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and procedures
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Leadership/mentoring skills and prior supervisor experience desired
  • Listen and communicate effectively with production and office employees
  • Must be able to draw conclusions and make fair judgment on employee issues
  • High level of customer focus and ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times with customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures proper maintenance activities are provided to meet daily production requirements.
  • Performs activities related to the maintaining and repairing of physical systems of buildings, grounds and equipment.
  • Inspects, maintains, and repairs plumbing, heating, water, and sewer systems; does electrical maintenance and repair work.
  • Inspects equipment and diagnoses trouble or malfunctions.
  • Analyzes equipment failures, determines cause and makes necessary adjustments.
  • Installs control circuits, wiring, and conduit; repairs fabrication and CNC equipment; hydraulics and pneumatics repair, keeps tools and equipment in good condition.
  • Maintains a safe work environment per company safety standards.
  • Applies knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in the operation and repair of plumbing and electrical systems (up to 3 phase 480V).
  • Applies knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in the repair of mechanical equipment and in building maintenance.
  • Weld; use electrical meters; read, interpret, and work from plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Estimate time and materials needed; ability to follow procedural oral and written directions.
