About The Position

The Regional Facilities Maintenance Staff member is responsible for maintaining Beck’s Superior Hybrids office buildings, warehouses, cold storage units, and support facilities across assigned locations. This role performs preventive maintenance, addresses repair needs, troubleshoots facility issues, and helps ensure a safe, reliable, comfortable, and professional environment for employees and customers. This position requires frequent regional travel, the ability to work independently, and occasional overnight stays. This role will be based out of El Paso, IL but serve the other following locations for their maintenance needs: Illinois - Pontiac, Mt. Pulaski, Paris, Effingham, and Neoga. Missouri - Marshall, Carthage, New Madrid. Iowa - Mt. Pleasant. The travel requirements to serve this role effectively will follow a structure similar to this: 3-4 overnights/mo. could be expected during some seasons. Day trips to occur 3-4 days a week depending on needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
  • Ability to obtain any required company-approved driving license or endorsement, if needed.
  • General knowledge of HVAC systems, including systems used in temperature-controlled storage or cold storage units.
  • Basic understanding of electrical practices and facility-related plumbing systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS or work order systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA standards and environmental considerations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage workload across multiple sites independently.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently within an assigned region.
  • Ability to stay overnight when business needs require.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or respond to urgent maintenance issues during emergencies.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and walking throughout facilities and grounds.
  • 3–5 years of experience in commercial facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or facility systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or trade school certification in facilities maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or a related field preferred.
  • OSHA certification or other safety training preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple facilities or working in a regional maintenance role strongly preferred.
  • Experience in agricultural, seed production, manufacturing, warehouse, or temperature-controlled storage environments preferred.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, or service providers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, cold storage, and general structural components.
  • Support maintenance needs for warehouses, cold storage units, office facilities, and other operational support buildings.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, equipment, and critical systems to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Troubleshoot facility issues and respond promptly to maintenance requests, urgent repairs, and emergency situations to minimize downtime.
  • Ability to train and become skilled in management of fire protection and detection systems.
  • Coordinate and oversee vendors, contractors, and service providers when outside support is required.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records through preventive maintenance programs, work orders, or CMMS tools as applicable.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards, environmental regulations, company policies, and established procedures.
  • Build strong working relationships with location managers, team members, contractors, and service providers to support operational needs.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
