About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Facilities Project Engineer. The position will be based at our facility in El Paso, Texas. The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. PURPOSE OF POSITION: Provide engineering and technical support for facilities maintenance team and execute facilities related capital projects as well as renovation and upgrade projects that impact growth of the site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum Five (5) or more years of experience supporting facilities and manufacturing maintenance or engineering function.
  • Minimum Two (2) or more years of experience executing infrastructure or facility improvement projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, water distribution, and central utility plants.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or civil engineering from an accredited institution
  • Verified understanding about construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, project health, safety, and environment (HSE), quality, building materials, and required standards as per field.
  • Ability to apply basic engineering/problem solving principles to construction challenges.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize own work and delegate simple tasks.
  • Ability to build a comprehensive schedule.
  • Shown understanding in Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems with a strong ability to embrace new technology.

  • Effective interpersonal skills to resolve conflict, develop employees and facilitate corrective action while fostering an environment that supports Eaton values & philosophy.
  • Design Software (CAD) and engineering tool knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive project execution through planning, resource management, scope management, tracking, and identifying risks, issues & opportunities using Eaton process stage gate and other project management methodologies and obtaining appropriate level of sponsorship.
  • Works with multifunctional project team members, and stakeholders to define, prioritize, and execute projects and programs as per defined expectations.
  • Supervise and coordinates activities with contractors and service providers for specialized tasks.
  • Develop Capital Appropriation Request for projects.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs.
  • Plan and oversee facility lay-out alterations or modifications.
  • Participates in change management and order process, including pricing, processing, and assessing cost and schedule impact.
  • Maintains and performs project document control and procedures (coordinating RFI/RFQs, shop drawing and submittal process maintaining as-built drawings, etc.) (BLDG and CIVIL).
  • Interact with other Eaton sites, suppliers, and contractors to support manufacturing and facilities development and improvement projects.
  • Ensuring facility operations adhere to local regulations, building codes, and health/safety (EHS) standards.
  • Implement, promote and maintain a safe work environment by implementing a culture of zero accidents including prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and application of rules. Identify, control and administer risk and danger in own area and manufacturing processes.
