About The Position

CNFC is seeking a qualified Facilities Project Coordinator to perform on-site Project services at Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth (NMCP). This position supports the facility manager with tasks listed as a part of daily essential duties and responsibilities within the Defense Health Agency (DHA) environment. Also, this position provides Technical Management support functions at NMCP in support of this contract. Candidates should be well-rounded, effective communicators able to work independently and meet aggressive deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture and/or Engineering preferred and/or 10+ years of related professional experience which can be considered a possible substitute a degree.
  • Experience performing Quality Assurance duties in a construction environment
  • Candidates must be US Citizens
  • Candidates selected will be subject to a U.S. Government federal background security investigation and must favorably pass a drug screen
  • Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Working knowledge of the medical design criteria, the Uniform Facility Criteria (UFC’s) and Federal Building Code requirements
  • Able to work in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

  • Advise the Facilities Manager of all issues that require action or the action of senior leaders
  • Review of documentation to ensure that required documentation is complete and usable for the maintenance and operations of the facility once the project is turned over to the Command
  • Coordinates with facility infection control officers to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinates with facility safety officers to implement effective safety policies.
  • Provide timely coordination with clinic staff to ensure proper reviews and notification of projects and utility outages.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to include Facilities, DPW, DHA, and project-related Corps of Engineers staff.
  • Participate in final on-site inspections of completed work and reports findings to the COR and/or stakeholders.
  • Coordinate design and submittal reviews and analyzes and responds to contractor request for information.
  • Monitors construction contractor quality control activities and makes appropriate recommendations to COR for Government action.
  • Maintain records of all necessary construction documentation such as financial cost accounting, meetings, drawings, submittals, applications for payments, change orders, proposals, purchase orders, communications, transmittals, notes, etc.
  • Attends pre-construction, staff, in-progress reviews, and other project related meetings, and provides reports to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to include Facilities, Logistics, Med Maintenance, the construction contractor, Regional Facilities Staff, NAVFAC PM staff, and project related Corps of Engineers staff.
  • Maintain progress photos of the project.
  • Review schedules, work performance quality, safety oversight, coordination effectiveness, and perform documentation reviews for COR for all repair and construction work in progress or planning.
  • Ensure conformance with NFPA codes, Unified Facilities Criteria, Joint Commission standards, safety standards, and other agency criteria.
  • Prepare reports and perform special projects as required by the contract.
  • Complete required Army training, as required by the site.
