About The Position

HSS, the world leader in musculoskeletal health, is seeking a Facilities Planner I for an exciting opportunity to support the continued strategic growth of the organization. As demand for HSS services continues to expand, this role will contribute to the enterprise space management strategy and support the development of new regional locations, as well as the transformation of the main campus. As a member of the Planning, Design, and Construction (PDC) team, the Facilities Planner I will manage the Space, Reservation, and Move modules within the HSS Archibus Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS), ensuring accurate space data, streamlined scheduling, and seamless coordination of moves. This role will also support a workplace planning initiative aimed at evolving HSS into a more modern, agile organization through the implementation of forward-thinking workplace models. Strong project management, analytical, and change management skills will be essential to the success of this transformation. In addition, the Facilities Planner I will oversee the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of physical signage across the organization, supporting both new projects and existing facilities. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Human Resources, Operational Excellence, Information Technology, and external vendors and consultants, as well as key stakeholders across the organization. Given the unique challenges and opportunities associated with this role within the Planning, Design and Construction department at HSS, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to expand their skill set across multiple areas, while also positioning themselves for continued professional growth and advancement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (e.g., BA, BS, BSN, BSW) in Architectural, Business, Healthcare, or related professional degree required
  • 2-5 years of experience in space planning, workplace and healthcare preferred
  • Full working knowledge of software including Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Bluebeam, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint are required.
  • Able to take complex, multi-dimensional ideas to paper
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects
  • Demonstrated capacity to multi-task and utilize critical thinking skills to identify and solve problems
  • An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understanding
  • Able to work effectively when the way forward is not obvious, and resilient in recovering from setbacks and skilled at finding detours around obstacles

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Archibus preferable

Responsibilities

  • Manage the HSS Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS)
  • Maintain up to date floor plans and space assignments
  • Provide support in coordinating and managing reservation activities
  • Assist in the creation of framework for a formal space committee
  • Oversee the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of physical signage across the organization
  • Coordinate with leadership to implement new workplace strategies and develop space allocation plans utilizing workspace data
  • Liaising with departmental managers to determine space requirements
  • Assist in the development of signage guidelines
  • Support the coordination and management of external consultants such as signage and IWMS vendors
