About The Position

The Facilities, Pipeline & Installations Engineer is an integral member of Seneca Resources’ Environmental Engineering team. The role provides engineering support for facility, pipeline, and installation projects from concept development through commissioning and closeout, addressing design, field, operational, maintenance, reliability, and construction challenges. The engineer develops practical recommendations that account for safety, compliance, constructability, cost, schedule, production impact, reliability, and maintainability, and provides technical direction to operations, field leadership, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders. The position designs and evaluates production facilities, separators, tanks, pipeline systems, and related infrastructure. Work includes developing and reviewing layouts, equipment arrangements, piping designs, pressure-control schemes, utility systems, pipeline routing, tie-ins, mechanical installation concepts, engineering calculations, hydraulic and capacity evaluations, equipment sizing, pressure ratings, material selections, drawings, specifications, data sheets, and construction packages. The engineer also reviews vendor and fabrication documentation and ensures designs are safe, constructible, maintainable, compliant, reliable, and suitable for future expansion where appropriate. The engineer leads or supports capital and operational projects, developing scopes, cost estimates, AFEs, design bases, schedules, execution plans, technical justifications, and material requirements. The role coordinates engineering deliverables, contractor support, long-lead equipment, outage requirements, tie-in windows, commissioning needs, and stakeholder dependencies, while monitoring project scope, schedule, quality, and cost. It also maintains engineering and project records, including calculations, drawings, redlines, P&IDs, as-builts, test records, equipment data, and closeout documentation. The position provides field engineering support during construction, installation, maintenance outages, troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and startup. It resolves conflicts involving drawings, specifications, field conditions, equipment configurations, site constraints, and operational needs; reviews field changes and design deviations; and supports planning, constructability reviews, punch lists, commissioning readiness, and lessons learned. The engineer also supports regulatory and operational activities, contractor and vendor oversight, troubleshooting, maintenance and reliability improvements, CMMS data quality, failure-trend evaluations, and equipment replacement decisions. The role requires compliance with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards, and procedures and active, regular participation in EHSQ programs. Seneca Resources Company, LLC is an oil and gas exploration and production subsidiary of National Fuel Gas Company, operating in Pennsylvania’s Marcellus and Utica Shales. The position offers a hybrid work schedule and is not eligible for relocation. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
